ABOUT
CONICIETI is the International Conference of Science, Technology and Innovation hosted by Universidad Tecnológica Centroamericana (UNITEC) in Honduras. It´s an annual meeting of professionals, researchers, students and industrial partners.
CONICIETI invites the participation of researchers from universities, national and international institutions, and industry. The conference is hybrid (in-person and virtual) and will feature keynote lectures, forums, exhibitions, conferences, and electronic and physical scientific poster sessions. CONICIETI is a space to disseminate and value national and regional scientific work, as well as to promote international exchanges. In 2024, authors of all disciplines are asked to include components on the importance of creativity and innovation in science.
March 1st, 2024 – Call for papers (CfP)
April 10, 2024 – Deadline for Full Papers (FP) for the Engineering and Technology section (Eastern Daylight Time – EDT).
April 10, 2024 – Deadline for abstracts for the Social, Human and Health Science section (Eastern Daylight Time – EDT).
March to April, 2024 – Tutorial courses on abstract, poster and LaTex preparation (optional). See resources for authors here.
April 24, 2024 – Notification of acceptance
April 28, 2024 – Submit final version of the accepted paper or abstract. Author should make sure they solve all the corrections requested by reviewers.
May 1, 2024 – Only virtual mode: Deadline to submit video and/or poster
May 13, 2024 – Only in-person mode: Deadline to submit poster design before printing
May 13, 2024 – Publication of the program

The venue of the conference will be in Universidad Tecnológica Centroamericana (UNITEC), Tegucigalpa, Honduras. Virtual presentations will be held in the conferences´s platforms.

Author guidelines for this call for papers
CONICIETI accepts original, novel and review papers. The following must be consider before submitting:
- Papers should be written in Spanish or English. However, if the paper is written in Spanish, Title, Abstract and Keywords, must be in English.
- Papers on topics of engineering and techology written in English will be considered for publication in Scopus-indexed journals of the Scientific Net Publisher (see https://www.scientific.net/). You can download the template here or from the resources for authors folder. Papers must be submitted electronically in the conference´s submission platform: Submit Paper | Scientific.Net
- Papers in Spanish will be transferred for the consideration of journals of varied indexes, if the authors accept so.
- Papers submitted to CONICIETI 2024 will undergo a blind peer-reviewing process, so, steps to ensure anonymity of authors will be ensured.
- Manuscripts will be reviewed by at least two reviewers, who will give detailed comments. All papers are reviewed using a single-blind reviewing process.
CALL FOR ABSTRACTS AND FULL PAPERS: SOCIAL, HUMAN AND HEALTH SCIENCE
CONICIETI invites you to submit original works in abstract or in paper related to human, social and health science, that includes, but are not limited to:
- SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT: Climate change, country vision, nation plan, socioeconomic development, globalization, competitiveness, with emphasis on equity, inclusion and care of the environment.
- SOCIAL SCIENCES, HUMANITIES AND ARTS: Sociology, anthropology, political science, philosophy, geography, demography, history, literature, law, journalism, communication, international relations, art, architecture, design, musicology, cinematography and others.
- TEACHING-LEARNING: Teaching, pedagogy, educational innovation, didactics, teacher training, digital skills, cognition, related biological processes and epistemology, methodology, aims and objectives in education, among others.
- BIOLOGICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES: Medicine, psychology, nutrition, dentistry, rehabilitation, genetics, molecular biology, epidemiology, health technologies, bioethics, among others.

Full papers will be considered for awards. Awarded papers could be transferred for the consideration of candidate journals of diferent indexes only if the authors accept so.
INSTRUCTIONS FOR SUBMISSION
- Authors should use the official templates for abstracts and papers, as well as additional instructions in the folder of resources for authors.
- Submit a structured abstract with a maximum limit of 250 words for the Engineering and Technology section of the conference. Authors that present full papers for this section do not need to send two abstracts. Platform for submission for this section will open soon.
- Submit a structured abstract with a maximum limit of 400 to 500 words for the Social, Human and Health Sciences section of the conference. Send your abstracts on this category to: [email protected]
- The presenting author of abstracts or full papers will ensure that all co-authors work on, understand, and approve the final version of the abstract before it is submitted.
- The author who will be the speaker must appear as the first author in the abstract and must provide his ORCID number (https://orcid.org/). It is recommended that all authors provide this number.
- An author can be part of several works, but can only be the presenter or first author in one of them.
- Authors can be part of no more than three submissions.
- In the case of teams of authors that combine students or profesionals or several institutions, the first author of the abstract defines the category of participation.
- Work done in collaboration with other universities can be presented.
- Abstracts that do not comply with the established guidelines will not be accepted.
- Authors registered in CONICIETI 2024 accept the schedules and guidelines of the conference in all their parts, so they will not be able to request any type of exception or modification.
- It is the obligation of the authors to respond to all communications from the conference organizers and process the corrections indicated by the Scientific Committee. If there is no response to the emails sent to the authors, the committee will make the decision to withdraw the work from the program.
- Answer to all communications from the conference organizers and process the amendments to the articles indicated by the Scientific Committee during the compliance screening phase.
- Unpublished works carried out for classes, thesis, graduation projects and others can participate.
- The authors of UNITEC, CEUTEC, UNIVERSIDAD VIRTUAL and INNOVATEC may be students, academics or researchers active in the university system in the last twelve months prior to the registration of the abstract. Beyond that time, the author will be considered an external speaker.
With the exception of papers transferred to other journals, all abstracts submitted will be published on a single page in the conference report in the Innovare Journal Vol. 13, No. 2 (August 2024).
ETHICAL GUIDELINES
- Send previously unpublished abstracts that are not under simultaneous review in another journal or conference. Preliminary data from ongoing studies may be presented. If you present data from an already published paper, present it in the review category, using a new abstract.
- Comply with international standards of research, publication and authorship ethics. See https://publicationethics.org/ and https://casrai.org/credit/.
- Work written using ChatGPT or other means of artificial intelligence will not be accepted.
- Ensure the quality of writing and language of the manuscript. It is advisable to seek editorial assistance before submitting.
- Plagiarism will be considered a rejection criterion and will influence the acceptance of participation in future conferences.
- Confirm that all authors participated and approved the article. The authors can be individual or group. In the case of author teams that combine students or teachers, the first author and his or her affiliation will define the category of participation.

- The Jury may declare one or more prizes to be invalid as the case may be.
- The Jury will communicate the selection of winners through minutes signed by a designated secretary and such selection is final.
- Faculty members of the Organizing Committee may participate as exhibitors in the conference, but they may not be reviewers of papers and must declare a conflict of interest in the process, when necessary.

- It will take place at the closing ceremony of CONICIETI 2024.
- Each author will receive a diploma stating the award received.
